Concertus Design & Property Consultants has presented long service awards to nine members of the team who between them have worked a total of 271 years.
Based in Ipswich, the business employs just over a 100 staff and used to be the Corporate Property Department of Suffolk County Council before it became a limited entity in 2013.
One of the team members recognised for his length of service was Managing Director Andrew Rowe. He started with the company in 1989 as a Trainee Electrical Technician and has progressed through the business, becoming MD when Concertus started trading four years ago.
Among the other eight members of the team given awards are four heads of department.
Annett Thompson is Head of Cost Consultancy and joined the business in 1984 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. Head of Estates, Margaret Wells started work in 1989 as a Valuer, and 25 years on from joining as an Architectural Technician, David Garrard is now Head of Architecture. Sue Whiteley started with the business in 1990 as a Landscape Assistant and is now Head of Planning & Development.
The five are joined by Senior Quantity Surveyors, Stephen Cracknell (40 years) and Neil Page (25 years), and Business Assistants Tina Hawes and Barbara Burrows, both presented with awards for 30 years’ service.
Duncan Johnson, Non-Executive Chairman at Concertus presented flowers, chocolates and a gift to each of the recipients. He commented: “As Investors in People and an organisation that puts great emphasis on giving confidence to our employees that they have job security, I am delighted to be able to say thank you on behalf of Concertus. We value the loyalty and hard work of the nine team members who have received awards today. It is also impressive to see the majority of those recognised have started at trainee level in the business and have progressed to now hold senior management positions.”
