CAD Technician
Suffolk
To support the design and specification of Civil & Structural for Concertus Design and Property Consultants, ensuring that structures are safe and economic.
Team worker:
- Participate as a member of the Concertus team, supporting colleagues working collaboratively to develop the business
- Work flexibly to support delivery across the service

- Liaise with engineers and other professional colleagues in developing designs
Customer service:
- Represent the Concertus Group throughout the industry in a professional manner, creating a positive first impression
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, contractors and suppliers
Business delivery:
- Produce high quality and accurate design drawings relevant to the Structural Engineering discipline
- Work in both 3D and 2D modelling environments
- Adhere to drawing conventions and modelling protocols
- Maintain drawing libraries and associated document management processes and procedures
- Maintain and prioritise workload based on cost, quality or timescales
- Assess the environmental and Health and Safety impact and risks connected to design decisions
Communication:
- Create a positive and professional first impression of Concertus
- Deal with all contacts professionally
- Liaise with Architects and other professional staff and provide technical advice to them
BIM roles and responsibilities:
- Ensuring Asset Information requirements as set out in the Employers Information Requirements are delivered on a BIM project
- Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
- Enable integration and coordination of information within the models
- Manage spatial coordination
- Propose resolutions to coordination clashes
Measures of success:
- Feedback from team members, line manager, Directors and customers
- Contribution to service
- Team performance
- Service improvements suggested
- Accuracy and timeliness of support
- Efficiency of systems and processes
- Service delivered within budget and to agreed targets
It’s essential you have:
- CAD experience within a Civil / Structural context
- Proficiency in the use of ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD modelling software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- The ability to create neat and accurate technical drawings
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- A professional, friendly and honest attitude, building good relationships with colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver clear and accurate information
