Development Manager
Suffolk
To manage and deliver a range of development sites through the development appraisal and planning stages. To work closely with our clients and in-house professional services, and manage external resources to achieve combined project goals.
Your accountabilities:
- Contribute to the Development Team, supporting the business, team and colleagues to achieve maximum potential
- Coordinate and manage both internal and external resources to achieve planning consents on residential developments
- Work with clients to deliver diverse and interesting housing schemes and take sites through from feasibility to planning approvals and beyond
- Input into how we deliver projects and feedback regularly to the client on what is best for them next
- Link with other discipline teams in the business to assemble necessary support for project delivery
- Work proactively and flexibly to support delivery across the service with commercial and solution focus
- Take ownership for own personal development, and become a trusted partner to our clients
Business delivery:
- Plan and manage projects in a robust and systematic way, taking ownership of all related issues ensuring resolutions are found efficiently
- Deliver all projects on time, within budget and scope
- Look at the bigger picture, and assist clients with managing their assets and delivering transactional elements
- Co-ordinate internal resources and third parties for the execution of projects, ensuring resource availability and allocation
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
- Manage project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Manage and undertake projects of a high level of complexity and financial value.
- Look at the bigger picture, and assist clients with managing their assets
- Hold an awareness of BIM software and delivery which are utilised by the design studios.
Business strategy:
- • To have a sound understanding of the Concertus strategic business plan, providing support accordingly
• To ensure that Development team delivery supports wider business goals and the expansion of the business’ commercial performance
Business development:
- To support the commercial performance of the Development team by maximising own productivity and efficiency, providing exceptional service to increase repeat custom and networking effectively to win new work
- To work proactively to support delivery across the professional services with a commercial and solution-focused mindset
It’s essential you have:
- Experience as either a Development or Technical manager in the Construction industry
- Degree level qualified and preferably with professional qualifications e.g. MRICS, RICS, RTPI or similar
- Strong organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
- Experience of dealing with Planning officers and departments
- Experience of working with or for developers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an awareness of design and property software
Communication:
- Create a positive first impression of Concertus and deal with all contacts professionally
- Manage strong relationships with the client and stakeholders
- Handle any complaints effectively to limit business impact
