Mechanical Engineer
Derbyshire
To manage the design and specification of mechanical building services, compliance and quality of installations.
Your accountabilities:
- Participate as a member of the Concertus team supporting colleagues and working collaboratively to develop the business
- Work flexibly to support delivery across the service
- Take ownership for own personal development
- Work under the guidance of a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will provide training and support
Customer service:
- Provide an efficient and business-like point of contact. This includes responding to internal and external enquiries and (via face to face, telephone, email)
- Liaising with clients and developing the relevant aspects of client briefs
- Work collaboratively with other professionals within the Practice and also with Contractors/Suppliers
- Uphold customer relationships with existing clients and build new relationships with prospective clients
- Create a positive and professional first impression of Concertus
Business delivery:
- Design of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for both new and existing buildings
- Production of design calculations, schematics and detailed specifications and drawings using industry standard design software and specification methods
- Producing industry standard tender packages, undertaking analysis of tenders, monitoring and management of cost, quality and timescales
- Actively seek to progress projects working through concept to completion
- Undertake site surveys, site visits and associated inspections according to standard project/industry procedures or as the project requires
BIM roles and responsibilities:
- Ensuring Asset Information requirements and/or MIDP requirements set out in the Employers Information Requirements and delivered on a BIM project
- Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
- Enable integration and co-ordination of information within information model
- Configure information for project outputs
- Assure delivery of information exchanges
- Confirm supplier’s ability to deliver information requirements
- Co-ordinated delivery of all design information
- Manage information development and information approvals
- Confirm Design Deliverables
- Overall Lead for configuration management
- Production of design outputs related to a discipline specific, package-based or time-based task
- Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods
- Direct the production of task information using agreed systems
- Manage spatial co-ordination on behalf of task team
- Propose resolutions to co-ordination clashes

What you will need to know:
- You will hold at least five years’ experience working in consultancy practice or for a large contractor in a design capacity
- Up to date knowledge of relevant Building Regulations and standards for electrical installations
- HNC/HND in a relevant discipline
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Able to work effectively under pressure
