Trainee Building Services Engineer

Derbyshire

To assist in the delivery of building services design for the Building Services team.

 

Business delivery:

  • Assist in the design of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for both new and existing buildings
  • Learn design calculations, schematics and detailed specifications and drawings using industry standard design software and specification methods
  • Train in lighting design using industry standard software and methods
  • Contribute to standard tender packages, undertaking analysis of tenders, monitoring and management of cost, quality and timescales

 

Team worker:

  • Participate as a member of the Concertus team supporting colleagues and working collaboratively to develop the business
  • Work flexibly to support delivery across the service
  • Take ownership for own personal development
  • Work under the guidance of a Mechanical Engineering team who will provide training and support

 

Customer service:

  • Provide an efficient and business-like point of contact. This includes responding to internal and external enquiries and (via face to face, telephone, email)
  • Liaising with clients and developing the relevant aspects of client briefs
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals within the Practice and also with Contractors/Suppliers
  • Create a positive and professional first impression of Concertus

 

BIM roles and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and receive information into the information model
  • Configure information for project outputs
  • Populate the information exchange format for the information model.
  • Production of design outputs related to a discipline specific, package-based or time-based task.
  • Undertake clash detection process and report to design team lead

What you will need to know:

  • You will be enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Be prepared to undertake a professional qualification in Building Services Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
