At the heart of Concertus is the aim is to encourage their staff members to take an active part in supporting local charities and good causes. Testament to this is the news that in 2016 the team had their best year so far, with the year’s fundraising and donations totalling £2007.81.
Last year saw the team involved incseveral initiatives such as charity cake bake sales, the Movember campaign,guess the baby competition and a Christmas jumper day. You can read about all the activities on the Concertus Trading for Good profile.
Receptionist, Sophie Lissauer heads up the co-ordination of all the activity and uploading the information to Trading for Good, which also includes news and information on what Concertus is doing to help young people at work, improve its impact on the environment, as well as making life better for employees and working better with suppliers.
Sophie commented: “With these events and campaigns taking place within the office, we effectively spread the word about who we are as a company and define our corporate identity, making us more attractive to the public, clients and potential employees. It is amazing that together we have raised all this money for good causes and well done to everyone that was involved and supported us.”
With this in mind, Concertus announces its plan to support the following charities in 2017;
The Soma Leo Foundation – A charity that has taken on the responsibility to raise the funds necessary to establish schools in Kenya, Nyiera and Osieko, invest in further phases of development and meet their ongoing running costs. See more here: http://www.somaleo.org/
Inspire Suffolk – A charity which supports young people through their sport, health and education programmes. They carry out numerous projects throughout Suffolk that educate,motivate and inspire young people. A lot of these are carried out at schools.For example, free sports classes within schools. David Collins, Trustee of Soma Leo Foundation said: ‘’Concertus has been a supporter of The Soma Leo Foundation since its formation in early 2015. They have always attended our annual golf day and quiz nights and it is fantastic to hear that we have been chosen as one of their preferred causes in 2017. We very much look forward to developing that relationship further and supporting their staff with any fundraising opportunities this year’’
Sophie added: “The feedback I have received so far has been great! Therefore, let’s continue with the weird and wonderful ideas to raise money for charity.”
