Harwich and Dovercourt High School

“The final design on the toilet refurbishments implemented by Concertus has had a massive impact on the school environment for all pupils. They look modern and presented good value for money. Concertus has ensured that health and safety is at the core of this project.” – Steven Scott, The Sigma Trust

The Brief:
The toilet facilities at Harwich and Dovercourt High School were in a poor condition and desperately required a refurbishment. They needed to be open plan to keep up to date with current regulations (including safeguarding).

The Scope:
Our Building Surveyors took on the role of Principal Designers to provide an open plan layout to suit the school’s needs. We provided the staff and pupils with colour options to allow them the opportunity to have an input in key design decisions. Once our team had evaluated the tender returns, the contract was awarded to the winning contractor. Materials were chosen in line with the client’s budget and motion sensor lighting was installed to minimise the impact on the environment, as well as saving costs.

The Result:
Sigma Trust were impressed with our customer service skills when working closely with them on Monkwick Primary School and therefore decided to appoint us for this work. A flexible approach was adopted to make sure there was minimum impact on the educational provision at the school. The project came in under budget and the tight deadline was met.
