“To meet the project vision, we worked with the school from inception to completion, using a full range of building surveying, structural and civil engineering and building services.” – Andrew Lightfoot, Senior Building Surveyor, Concertus
The Brief: We were appointed to improve a number of spaces at Gorseland School in Martlesham, with the aim of remodelling and refurbishing its existing WC facilities, office and nursing room and corridor.
The Scope: We were successfully appointed because of our knowledge of the funding streams required to help the school finance the project, alongside our reputation for our services and approach in the sector. To meet the project vision, we worked with the school from inception to completion, using a full range of building surveying, structural and civil engineering and building services.
Making the most efficient use of the space available was an important need of the project. Utilising the knowledge and expertise of our building services, building surveying and structural and civil engineering teams, we executed a multidisciplinary approach to the project. With the aim of making the best use of the surrounding areas, we investigated options and created designs for improved corridors, WC facilities and an office and a nursing room.
The Result: Concertus worked collaboratively with the school, contractors and Suffolk County Council, to ensure the project objectives were met to time and within budget. This was a success and the school now benefits from bright, efficient spaces. The client is happy, with a positive end product being achieved.
