Community Hub, Saxmundham
Spread across the three sites, our talented team will work to provide Suffolk County Council (SCC) with a review of the accommodation needs of their staff, as well as local community and health facilities. SCC staff will relocate to Leiston Middle School in new fit for purpose accommodation with flexible, open plan accommodation for its staff.
The move will support modern ways of working and address a number of SCC priorities, including co-location and service integration of the Adult & Community Services staff with the Health Integrated Neighbourhood teams from Aldeburgh Hospital. This will make way for remodelling the Street Farm Road site to provide improved library, registrars, health clinic facilities and a new home for SADCIC and Leading Lives from the Fromus Centre on Seamans Avenue, Saxmundham.
SCC’s feasibility also looked at providing housing including move on care, extra care and all Lifetime Homes in Saxmundham utilising the vacated Fromus Centre site for redevelopment.
Our professional teams are providing a complete service for this programme of works, which will include multi-disciplinary working, drawing on all our past experience and expertise to achieve the modern ways of working that Suffolk County Council require. From Programme Management including HR Consultation, Relocation and Move Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications, Project Management, Risk Analysis, Financial Review; through to Architectural, Building Surveying, Landscaping, Programme of Works and Mechanical Services to refurbishing & remodelling the existing building.
Our Estates team will also negotiate and manage the exit leases and new leases in connection with the programme of works, therefore providing a complete package of works for the entire programme.
At present the negotiations continue with all parties to ensure the programme of works is complete within the agreed time frame. The result will improve community facilities and public access for community services in Saxmundham, with new fit for purpose accommodation for SCC staff and new opportunities for residential redevelopment within the town.
