“As agents for the council, we have achieved a result that other parties haven’t; to get the scheme to planning submission stage” – Andrew Rowe, Concertus
The Brief: Chilton Woods has been under discussion since the early 1990s and is a proposed large complicated residential scheme to be developed on land on the northern fringe of Sudbury in Suffolk. We were asked to utilise our knowledge and experience in developing a scheme to the planning stages; something two developers previously had failed to do.
The Aim: Suffolk County Council want to deliver a sustainable scheme that would drive economic growth, provide new housing and add value to the area.
The Scope: We were asked to project manage the Masterplan for the scheme. Our scope incorporated producing outline planning applications and delivery options, as well as handling complex landowner negotiations. These negotiations required an approach that was highly collaborative due to the number of stakeholders involved.
The Result(s): As agents for the council, we have achieved a result that other parties haven’t; to get the scheme to planning submission stage (the submission date is September 2015). The project is ongoing, still complicated and there is a fair way to go.
