Rougham CEVCP School

“The school were very happy with the end result as they have been able to gain additional teaching space while keeping it connected to the original school building.” – Chris Hill, Senior Designer Architectural, Concertus

The Brief: Rougham CEVP School required additional capacity to accommodate an increase in pupil numbers. We were successfully appointed to carry out the scheme, which required architectural design, quantity surveying, project management and building services. This project was part of the School Organisational Review (SOR).

The Scope: An extension to the school was the focus of the project, with new build and refurbishment works being implemented. Our original approach proposed a standalone unit, but this was opposed by the planning officers and English Heritage, so we revised the scheme to provide a new hall and two further class bases. All the additional accommodation required was met whilst working in the confines that English Heritage had set.

The Result: The school were very happy with the end result as they have been able to gain additional teaching space while keeping it connected to the original school building.
